Founded in 1990, the Cedar Valley Iris and Daylily Society (CVIDS) promotes interest in cultivation and hybridization of these colorful species. CVIDS is now honored to announce that it will host the 2012 AHS Region 1 Summer Meeting in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on July 20-22, 2012. This event will be headquartered at the Hotel at Kirkwood Center on the southern edge of the Kirkwood Community College campus in Cedar Rapids. We look forward to welcoming you to the meeting, during which we will tour four gardens within the Cedar Valley belonging to Verne & Mary Moore, Sharon Murken, Zora Ronan, and Jackie Westhoff. Our meeting schedule includes classes (e.g. AHS Judges Clinics), a boutique, an auction, and several Open Gardens. We are delighted that Margo Reed of Woodhenge Gardens (North Garden, VA) will be our keynote speaker. Every registrant will receive an introduction from Paul Owen (Slightly Different Nursery, Shelby, North Carolina). Mark your calendars; come and be dazzled by the daylilies of Cedar Valley!
